Ford Recalls 2013 Escapes for Possible Fire Danger

In the second recall this week, Ford Motor Company is not only urging owners of certain 2013 Escape models to take their crossover in for repairs, but urging them to stop driving the vehicle until it’s fixed.  The recall affects about 11,500 Escapes with a 1.6 liter engine.  The company says a fuel line could leak, sending fuel into the engine and increasing the risk of fire.  Three fires, two of which broke out at Ford’s Louisville, have been reported.  No one was injured.   To find out whether your 2013 Escape is among those being recalled www.FordOwner.com or call Ford’s Customer Relationship Center at 1-866-436-7332.

Earlier this week Ford recalled more than 8,000 2013 Escapes for problems with carpeting that could affect a driver’s foot placement on the pedals. For more information on that recall visit http://butlerautogroup.wordpress.com/2012/07/16/2013-ford-escape-recall/).
